WHEN THE MEDIA GETS IT WRONG . . . REALLY WRONG

We've all seen the photos from Abu Ghraib -- you know, the naked prisonsers, prisoners on leaches, etc., etc. Very humiliating for prison and guard alike.

But when Newsweek runs a now-admittedly bogus story about guards at Guantanamo flushing a copy of the Koran donw the toilet, the shit hit the fan.

So, now that there have been many killed, many others injured, and general feelings against the US worsened everywhere in the Muslim world as the result of this bogus story, where do those who were injured (or the families of the dead) go for redress?

It seems to me there had been a bias from day one for the mainstream media to over-report negative news from Iraq, Afhangistan and elsewhere. We now see the result of this over-zealous desire to report the "big story" that might stall the war in its tracks.

Enough is enough.

The word "sedition" comes to mind for harming US interests. But hell, how can an anti-Bush rag be held to any standard whatsoever if the goal is to hurt the administration...
