STILL A REAL JERK

It's usually a pleasure to read P.J. O'Rourke. Especially this piece he wrote for The Weekly Standard.

What's interesting about it is Kerry is trying to paint a picture that he was asked by Reagan to monitor the presidential voting in the Philippines in 1986 (like, you know, he and Reagan were buds). At the time, P.J. was a foreign correspondent, writing for Rolling Stone.

The article is excellent, especially the last sentence:

Just as today Kerry is brave sailor/bold war protester; foe of Saddam/friend of Hans Blix; political underdog/entitled nominee; big government liberal/corporate tax-cutting conservative; rider of Harleys/marrier of Heinz; and, incidentally, still a real jerk.
