Wretchard writes today about the frustration and angst of the left. He puts in words in one post what I've mentioned in multiple posts over the past year or so.

The American left (especially the "baby boomer" left) is in agony. It's in mourning for what Wretchard calls the "coup de etat directed against the carefully constructed edifice of their historical achievements." They see George Bush (the anti-Christ) as the crusader who has taken away or reversed everything they think they fought for in the sixties.

Their hate for him transcends everything. It's not just about the war in Iraq. It's much broader and deeper.
