Not unhappy to see Hewitt smacked around by a worthy opponent yesterday. He's way too humorless to be likeable.

I finally decided that's the problem with way too many professional athletes. Some (Michael Jordan, Mickey Mantle, Joe Namath) are/were genuinely likeable because they can smile while they're annihilating their opposition on the field of play. Others (Bjorn Borg is the best example I can think of) are every bit as interesting as watching a lecture on the cell structure of plants. They play their sport to a level that is just enough better than the other guy to win and, while they show emotion, they rarely exhibit joy.

Andy Roddick, however, is the real deal. With his new coach, he is my choice for the men's winner at Wimbledon.
